AKHIA, a full-service communications agency in Hudson, is partnering with the University of Akron’s Gary L. and Karen S. Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing and the Department of Marketing in the College of Business Administration to provide real-world, hands-on experience to students studying the art and science of marketing research. The exclusive internship program kicks off during the summer semester and will continue year-round.

“The marketing program and Taylor Institute have created a remarkable student experience that provides a mix of classroom and hands-on learning for students interested in pursuing careers in marketing analytics and research,” said Patsie Dionise, director, Optimization for AKHIA.
“As the world of communications continues to rely more heavily on data to produce the right results for companies, we are expanding our capabilities to help our clients gather actionable insights. Our agreement with the Department of Marketing and the Taylor Institute is just one piece of that larger puzzle.”

AKHIA and the Taylor Institute have a long-standing relationship based on sharing best practices and educational opportunities for working professionals and students.

“An important part of the marketing curriculum is giving students at the University of Akron the opportunity to work in the field while learning from practicing professionals,” said Jacob Farrar, Director, The Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing, University of Akron. “What better place to get a well-rounded experience with a number of companies than with AKHIA. We’re excited to offer this opportunity to our students and to continue building upon this relationship.”
