Evening with the Accountants was held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Quaker Square Station. 192 students from The George W. Daverio School of Accountancy attended the event, which featured 150 representatives from 40 different firms.
Juniors, seniors, and graduate students interested in accounting or tax were encouraged to attend Evening with the Accountants (EWA) to learn more about the accounting profession and to discuss career and internship opportunities with representatives from several companies and organizations. Students had the opportunity to speak directly with representatives who make recruitment decisions for their firms, corporations and organizations. Evening with the Accountants is an annual event intended to introduce students to accounting professionals and provide them an opportunity to network with future employers. It also gives the firms a chance to decide who they will want to consider for future opportunities.
The School also offered a pre-EWA workshop held in the School of Accountancy offices on September 6. Participation helped prepare students to put their best foot forward at EWA and at future interviews. Along with helpful tips provided through presentations, students were able to have their resumes critiqued, or go through a mock interview with a member of the Junior Advisory Board.
