Accounting Student Wins Regional Award for Research Paper

Recent CBA graduate James Lapp ’12 placed 1st in the American Accounting Association Ohio Region Master’s Student Manuscript Competition.  The award was presented at the 2012 AAA Ohio Region Meeting held in Cincinnati May 10 – 12. Lapp received a plaque and a monetary award for his outstanding work.

His winning paper titled, “Are Stealth Restatements Coming Out of the Woodwork,” was written for his Fall 2011 Enterprise Risk Assessment class taught by Dr. Thomas Calderon, chair of the CBA’s Daverio School of Accountancy.

Lapp graduated with his Master of Science in Accounting degree on May 4, 2012.
