CBA Finance Team are Quiz Bowl Champs

Congratulations to the team of CBA Finance students Adriana Demjanjuk, Cinara Foor, Joe Johnson, and Benjamin Schwarz for winning the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators, Inc. (NAGDCA) Retirement Quiz Bowl during the 2016 NAGDCA Annual Conference held in Denver, Colorado. Faculty advisors for the team are Suzanne Gradisher, J.D., an associate professor of finance, and Dr. Barry Mulholland, a visiting professor of practice and director of the CBA’s Certified Financial Planning (CFP) programs. In their first appearance at the NAGDCA competition, The University of Akron team defeated the team from Texas A&M University to take the championship. The NAGDCA/ANC Foundation Retirement Knowledge Quiz Bowl is a game-show style competition for students of Certified Financial Planning and non-Certified Financial Planning degree programs. The objective of the Retirement Knowledge Quiz Bowl is to promote the profession of financial planning and advance knowledge in the field of public sector retirement plans. The event is intended to engage students in general retirement planning issues and expand awareness of the professional community and organizations that support the profession.
