“Boots to Suits” Program03/10/2010
In support of President Barack Obama’s Veterans Employment Initiative, UA’s Military Services Center, in collaboration with the Cleveland Veterans Administration, is pleased to welcome the “Boots to Suits” employment team from the Cleveland VA Medical Center for a series of employment training seminars on March 24, 25 and 27, 2010.
The purpose of the training is to assist veterans in understanding veteran preference and how to navigate the federal application process. The hands-on training will show veterans how to compare their military experience to federal job announcements and qualification requirements and prepare for performance-based interviewing. In addition, the team will provide information for current students on applying for the Student Educational Employment Program, which offers paid training in the students’ field of interest in conjunction with experience working for the VA.
The seminars will be held in the Polsky Building and are free to any veteran or their family members. Please inform any interested veterans so they can register for the specific dates, times and locations by contacting Mary Rossett at firstname.lastname@example.org or ext. 7382.
