The University of Akron Financial Planning Program has again been selected to participate in the Financial Planning Association (FPA) 2013 Annual Conference and Expo. In exchange for student assistance in the operation of the conference, the FPA forgoes conference fees and provides some meals for up to five students.
The Department of Finance, with the assistance of the Department of Finance Advisory Board, will provide financial support for the trip. The students selected, however, will be required to pay $100 of the cost by check to the department as directed upon selection. The department will book air travel and hotel rooms. Students are directly responsible for all other out-of-pocket expenses. Reasonable and necessary expenses may be reimbursed.
To be eligible, students must be a declared Finance Major, have completed (by the end of the Spring 2013 semester) 60 credit hours, must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and must submit by 5:00 p.m. September 13, 2013 the following:
