CBA NSHMBA University Partners Program

NSHMBA University Partners Program 

NSHMBA mandates the following requirements for the University Partners who select their NSHMBA Scholars:

• Be United States Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident

• Preference may be given but is not limited to students of Hispanic heritage or students with a demonstrated commitment to the Hispanic community

• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) from either a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree

• Enroll in the AACSB accredited program

Recipients do not have to be a NSHMBA current members, as they will be provided membership once they are selected to be a scholar.

These are the benefits for the NSHMBA Scholars:

• Complimentary full conference registration and up to $250 travel and accommodations reimbursement for the NSHMBA Annual Conference & Career Expo. (Each student recipient must volunteer at conference a total of four (4) hours and attend the NSHMBA Scholars Meeting and NSHMBA Scholars Luncheon in order to receive these benefits.)

• Each student recipient(s) also receives a special invitation to the scholarship luncheon during conference which honors and recognizes our scholarship recipients

• Conference preparation webinars on building your resume, elevator speech and best practices at conference Access to scholarship corporate donors to internship and job opportunities Recognition on the NSHMBA website and other materials as a NSHMBA Scholar

• Premier NSHMBA membership during award year (if student is not already a member) valued at $250

• Connection with local NSHMBA Chapter(s)

• Inclusion of the recipient’s resume on the NSHMBA Scholars resume database to all top corporate donors

• Access to scholarship corporate donors to internship and job opportunities

The Akron Tax Club Scholarship This scholarship is intended to fund a graduate assistantship or scholarship for a student with an interest in taxation who is pursuing a degree program in the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy.  Full Description

Benjamin and Nancy Suarez Direct and Interactive Marketing Scholarship Two awards will be made to a College of Business Administration Graduate student to support the study of Direct Interactive Marketing. An award of $3,000 toward tuition, fees and course materials will designated for students to take the following two courses for the 2012-2013 academic year:

6600: 615 Cross-Media Database Marketing 3 credits

6600: 630 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 3 credits

The recipients will be based on scholarship and leadership. Full Description

The Eleanor Christoff Bodurow Award

*This scholarship will not be available in 2014-2015*.

This $1,500 annual award is presented to women alumni of the College of Business Administration who are currently pursuing an MBA degree in the CBA.

The Jeffrey R. Brashares Endowed Scholarship in SCM Preference is given to a student pursuing either a major, minor or graduate concentration in supply chain management in the College of Business Administration. Full Description

The Georgianna Catherine Dedrick Scholarship

*This scholarship will not be available in 2014-2015*

This scholarship provides tuition-only assistance to students in the MBA program.

The Robert E. Donovan Scholarship This scholarship is awarded annually to deserving female students who are pursing degrees in engineering, law, or business, and have a demonstrated financial need. Full Description

The John Wesley Doubledee Endowed Scholarship *This scholarship will not be available in 2014-2015*
This scholarship is awarded annually to one student who is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in entrepreneurship, information technologies or international business. Preference will be given to Summit County residents. Full Description

Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program The purposes of the Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program are to: (1) promote and encourage students who show great promise for successful finance careers in business and government, (2) support the student recruitment efforts of the Department of Finance, and (3) maintain and improve the quality and reputation of Department of Finance programs by attracting excellent students. The David M. Grubb Endowed Scholarship This renewable scholarship benefits undergraduate or graduate students in the management program who have a demonstrated history of high academic achievement. Full Description

Velma Hesselbart Scholarship An award of $2,000 ($1,000 Fall and $1,000 Spring semester) toward tuition and fees will be made annually to a woman majoring in marketing management, sales management, or integrated marketing communication who is a full-time student at the junior, senior, or graduate level. The Macro-Davis Joint Degree Scholarship

This scholarship assists deserving students who are earning a joint degree in the College of Business Administration and the School of Law and demonstrate financial need, community involvement and servanthood.
