Students can add classes through the first week of the semester by using My Akron. To add a course after this point, a student needs to go to My Akron and download the Student Add Form, which can be found in the Faculty/Staff tab, under the Forms for Faculty and Staff heading. Students will need to obtain three signatures:
For 3-credit-hour courses, the deadline for adding courses is the 14th day of the semester. Deadlines for courses with later start dates vary each semester. It is the students’ responsibility to be aware of these deadlines, which are available on the Registrar’s website. For more information, please contact your academic adviser.
Students can use My Akron to drop and/or withdraw from a course electronically. The University of Akron has adopted a new drop/withdrawal policy , effective Fall 2011. The last day to withdraw from a course during the Fall or Spring semester is the seventh week of classes for a full semester course. Note that the drop/ withdraw dates vary based on the number of weeks of the course. Each semester, the add/withdraw dates are published on the Registrar’s pages.
The Undergraduate Bulletin provides the University’s descriptions of every undergraduate academic program and course. It is important to note that the College of Business Administration’s courses are designated by a 6x00. These can be confused with some Business Management Technology classes, designated as 2420.
