Recruiting Students/Alumni for Full-Time Employment

Thank you for choosing to support and recruit students at The University of Akron. As a valued employer we want to ensure that all of your recruiting needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Please review the following list of services and contact Nancy Larker at (330) 972-7827 to discuss your recruitment plan.

Job Postings/Resume Referrals/ZIProfessional Database Access

PLEASE NOTE: Third-party, part-time, or non-degreed positions are are made available to students in our Career Resource Library for 30 days. These positions are ineligible for the online database.

Third party recruiters are defined as any individual or staffing agency recruiting on behalf of an employer whose company name is not revealed in the job description. Those third-party recruiters who are able to reveal the name of their client will be given a resume referral at the discretion of the Director.

CCM lists full-time, degree-required, internship and cooperative education positions within our electronic database for 30 days. The Center for Career Management offers several options to employers wishing to advertise current employment opportunities:

  • The CCM Posts the Job For You

The CCM will post the position for you in the ZIProfessional online database.

If you request us to post the position for you, please allow a minimum of 2 business days of when we receive the job description for us to post it on our site. Students and alumni will view the posting, and those choosing to apply will send their resume to you based on your application directions.

In order to post your job(s), we require the job description to be a Word or text file, and to have the following information contained in the body of the attachment:

  • Company Name
  • Street Address
  • City/State/Zip
  • Contact Information (phone, fax, & email)
  • Brief description of the job
  • Job qualifications (include any pertinent information such as desired major, GPA, etc.)
  • How you would like resumes sent (via email, fax, etc.)

Submit your job postings to us at ccmjobs@uakron.edu

  • Employers May Post Their Positions Online

We also offer employers who are seeking full-time, degree-required positions the opportunity to post and edit their own positions online. This option allows you to display your job description in real time for students and alumni to view.

All positions posted online must be full-time and degree-required. Employer-posted positions not meeting these requirements will be removed from the database.

To be granted access to use the system, contact the Employer Relations department at 330-972-5467, or email us at ccmjobs@uakron.edu

Resume Referral Service

You may also request a resume referral for any full-time, degree-required position or co-op/internship. We will run a query of our database and email the resumes of qualified candidates. You may then contact them at your discretion. Resume referrals are provided within 2 business days. Please request a resume referral when you submit your job description.

PLEASE NOTE: Part-time, or non-degreed positions are ineligible for a resume referral. Those third-party recruiters who are able to reveal the name of their client will be given a resume referral at the discretion of the Director.

UA Career Fairs

The CCM coordinates the UA Career Fair each fall and spring semester, and participates in the NOTED Education Fair in the spring. Employers from public, private, and non-profit sectors attend campus fairs to fill available full-time, co-op and internship positions. The events are open to students of all majors and class levels. The career fairs are a great way to build awareness about your organization, learn more about student dynamics, and to potentially connect with faculty in various academic departments.
