Get involved in career related activities to increase your chances of getting the job you want after graduation, and to gain first hand knowledge of the field. Employers desire entry-level candidates that can make immediate contributions to their organizations. Gain an advantage over other candidates by obtaining experiences and testing the waters in your desired field. Participate in cooperative education or internships to help you solidify your career interests. In addition, consider volunteer and /or community service opportunities in your interest area. Plan early by arranging for a mandatory orientation session. UA Career Fairs One way to start investigating different career options is to attend one of the UA Career Fairs. Recruiters from industry, non-profits, government and healthcare agencies are on hand to educate students on the opportunities available and potentially schedule interviews. Fill Your Mug Mondays Get first hand information from recruiters on the latest trends in resume writing, interviewing and job search strategies. During the fall and spring semesters, students can participate in career-related programming, such as mock interviews. Other workshops available cover a variety of topics, such as interviewing skills, trends in resume writing, and avenues to a successful job search. Please check the CCM calendar for specific dates.
