Experiencing a Co-op/Intern Work Assignment As a currently enrolled co-op/intern student, you are responsible for the paraprofessional aspect of your co-op/intern assignment as well as the academic aspect. In other words, you are expected not only to comply with the expectations of your employer, but with the expectations of the Career Advantage Network as well. Students are expected to turn in all forms and reports related to their assignment adequately and on time, and are expected to participate in ongoing correspondence with staff members throughout their assignment.
Student Responsibilities During the Work Term As a participant in the Career Advantage Network and as a University of Akron student, you have a responsibility to:
- Be a productive and responsible employee
- Relate what has been learned in class to the workplace whenever possible for your benefit as well as the employer’s
- Set goals or objectives that will encourage self-improvement and benefit you and the employer
- Represent The University of Akron with a standard of performance that will keep the relationship between the university and the employer at a high level
- Communicate on a regular basis with the University and the employer
- Comply with all University fees and deadlines related to course registration
- Meet all assignment deadlines
- Check Springboard regularly (co-op students only)
