Eligibility Requirements All students wishing to participate in a cooperative education or internship assignment must meet the following eligibility requirements. Please note that these requirements are established by each academic unit and are subject to change. In addition, some majors may have different requirements for internships, so it is important to make sure you contact the Center for Career Management and review the link below for additional requirements.
Students must meet the following criteria to participate in an assignment:
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student who has been accepted into one of the degree-granting colleges at The University of Akron
- Community and Technical College students must complete at minimum one year of coursework if pursuing an Associate degree
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.3, and a 2.5 for the College of Business, (each department may have additional requirements)
- Completion of selected coursework (as determined by the department)
