


This in-depth program includes 130 hours classroom instruction and more than 200 hours of supervised field experience in a preapproved work setting. There are four focus areas: food systems management, safety and sanitation, human resource management, and nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. Twenty-five hours (25) of the fifty (50) Nutrition hours of field experience must be supervised by a Registered Dietitian. All field experience sites must meet the requirements of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals. If you have at least 2-years of experience in a supervisory capacity in institutional foodservice, you may be eligible to waive a portion of the non-nutritional DMT field experience. Registrants must be high school graduates or equivalent, actively working in a health care facility, and are responsible for coordinating their preceptor and work experiences.
