Continuing Education Units (CEUs) provide a measurable record of course participation in noncredit programs. Each CEU is equivalent to 10 class hours (10 hours = 1.0 CEU) and is expressed to the nearest tenth. This unit of measurement has been adopted nationwide by continuing education programs. There is no additional charge for CEUs. Check with your school district's local professional development committee (LPDC) about the applicability of courses prior to enrolling, or with the Ohio Department of Education.
You will receive a certificate of completion if you attend 75 percent of the classes. No grades are given. Your permanent CEU record is maintained by our office. A transcript is available for a fee of $4.
Parking permits are required to park in all University of Akron student lots. No permits are required for noncredit classes held off campus. Parking permits for any Workforce Development noncredit class on campus will be included with your confirmation letter. Lost permits will be replaced for a fee. Permits must be displayed on your rearview mirror before the first class session. Permits will be mailed to you with your course confirmation letter. A permit must be returned before a refund can be processed.
