Professional Development Units (PDUs)

The professional development units (PDUs) are the measuring unit used to quantify approved learning and professional service activities.

Courses offered by PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s) are preapproved for contact hours in fulfillment of certification eligibility requirements, as well as PDUs to fulfill the continuing certification requirements (CCR) for PMI credentials.

Registered Education Provider (R.E.P)

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at The University of Akron is a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) through Project Management Institute (PMI).

The R.E.P program has been designed to enhance the ongoing professional development of PMI's members, those credentialed through PM and others in the project management profession.

PDU activities for PMP credential holders must be related to project management topics that are substantially consistent with the knowledge areas and processes outlined in the current edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBPK® Guide) and involve appropriate expert resources.
