( Dietary Manager, ServSafe ) - CERTIFICATION
CERTIFIED DIETARY MANAGER
This course is designed for use by health care food service employees, particularly those in long-term care facilities and hospital food service operations. It is also available for food service employees in correctional facilities, public schools and other institutional settings offering patient care. The three focus areas of the program are nutrition, management, and safety/sanitation. Successful completion of this course permits you to become a member of the Dietary Managers Association (DMA) and take the DMA exam, receive the National Restaurant Association ServSafe Certification, and receive the Ohio Department of Health Food Protection Certification. Registrants must be high school graduates or equivalent. Students who successfully completed a previous course passed the Dietary Managers Credentialing Exam at a rate of 100 percent! For operators, managers, supervisors, cooks and employees - to prevent food-borne illnesses and help reduce liability and insurance costs. Topics: causes and spread of food-borne illnesses, methods of preventing food-borne illnesses, microbiology, and cleaning and sanitizing.
