FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING FOR NON-FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS
Managers and supervisors - regardless of their specialty - need to have a good understanding of accounting concepts and financial statements to enable them to make better decisions. This course is designed for those with little or no formal accounting training. Key subjects include accounting terms and definitions, basic budgeting and cost accounting concepts and tools, how to read and understand basic financial statements, how to identify and use financial ratios, plus any other basic questions you may have but were always afraid to ask!

MANAGING SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONS
Change is inevitable in today’s work environment and it’s difficult to do it well. Increase your chances for successfully managing change to create bottom line impact. A method for managing organizational change will be explored in detail, while you work through a real world example you bring to class. You will walk away with a viable plan for managing your change initiative, as well as tools you can use throughout the change process. Quickbooks Pro is an easy-to-use, behind-the scenes accounting software that eliminates the need for in-depth accounting knowledge. This course includes the steps involved in creating a new company, setting up accounts and lists for automated transactions, preparing invoices, making deposits, printing statements, inventory management and customizing this software package for the needs of your business. Applicable for earlier versions of Quickbooks. Prerequisite: basic computer skills, experience with Windows. Class includes free intuit 140-day trial version of Quickbooks 2009.
