USING FILMS TO UNDERSTAND THE DSM IV – OCB AND ANXIETY
Two courses are offered in this topic, each addressing different disorders. This course, for counselors and social workers, helps to identify mental health disorders with a focus on Obsessive Compulsive Behavior and Anxiety Disorders. An assortment of popular films will help you understand the criteria of the disorder, as it is described in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of mental disorders. This training will continue to help counselors and social workers learn the standard of ruling out criteria when diagnosing and the controversies clinicians face as they diagnose mental health disorders. Many different films will be shown as examples of mental illness disorders. Group work will help facilitate learning. The closing group activity includes an application exercise using the trainee’s diagnostic skills, case plan goals, and treatment plan outlines.
