( Wedding Planner ) - CERTIFICATION
CERTIFIED WEDDING AND EVENT PLANNER
Becoming a Certified Wedding & Event Planner requires business organization, logistics, networking, and client relationship management skills. Successful event planners possess knowledge and skill with budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and revenue channels. This 40-hour certificate program is a blended course, scheduled for two nights of classroom training per week at The University of Akron campus, and Online access so you can continue learning on the Internet at your convenience. In addition to learning the fundamentals of event planning, you will become familiar with wedding trends, etiquette, flowers, music, day of services, marketing, bridal fashion, color themes, and signature wedding design. You will gain all of the tools necessary to successfully grow a professional wedding and event planning business, or work with someone already established in the field. One onsite field trip will be arranged after the first class meeting. Fee includes textbook and materials, CDs, testing and national certification from the Wedding Planning Institute.
