Dan Hickey

Director, Workforce Development & Continuing Education


Dan joined the department in 1999 as a Coordinator of Business and Industry. He became interim director in 2002 and was recently appointed director. In addition to his responsibilities as director, Dan has extensive experience in coordinating and working with area companies to ensure successful training programs (six sigma, ISO, Lean, leadership, customer service, computer software, etc).

Dan is an active participant in the community, serving on area committees including Summit County Workforce Development Board Member and Medina County Economic Development Council. He is a member of OCHEA, American Society of Quality, and ASTD.

Dan is originally from Kansas City, but has lived in northeast Ohio for over 30 years. He and his wife Trish enjoy travel, fishing, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
