Cheryl Beckwith

Workforce Development and Continuing Education Coordinator

Cheryl holds a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication, a M.S. in Technical Education, and is a Certified Program Planner (CPP). She is currently completing a graduate certificate program to prepare for TESOL certification (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).

She joined the university in 2000, and develops training programs and noncredit courses in computer applications, business, technical and professional development, as well as special events, seminars and conferences. She has extensive experience as a chamber of commerce executive director, tourist information center manager and community education coordinator. Formerly, Cheryl was a marketing and publicity consultant and business owner.

Cheryl is a board member of the Ohio Continuing Higher Education Association (OCHEA), a member of the Learning Resource Network (LERN), the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Langugae (IATEFL), Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, and advisory board member - Portage Lakes Career Center.
