The Survey Research Lab Data Services Program provides information to nonprofit and nonpartisan organizations, government agencies, academics and researchers. The Data Services Program operates as a repository of demographic information available to the public for any noncommercial, nonpartisan and educational activities.
Information available ranges from simple summaries to complex analyses of demographic and economic data. Information can be presented in tabular or text format, and some data can be made into GIS maps. The Survey Research Lab is capable of producing complete reports ready for submission, as well as providing charts, graphs or maps for inclusion into projects or presentations.
A number of pre-constructed reports are on hand for organizations that need summative data on a particular economic aspect or region of Ohio. Our Summit, Stark, Wayne, Medina, Portage and urban county data pages are designed just for this purpose. They contain a variety of demographic information designed for grant writers, community groups, social services and local governments that need more specific information than is commonly available. Considerable data are available on-line and other topics or more specific data are available upon request.
The Survey Research Lab has a collaborative relationship with the University of Akron Department of Geography and Planning. Resources and staff abilities are combined in the production of layered GIS maps and the analysis and interpretation of spatial data.
