The Special Interest Collection contains hundreds of thousands of miscellaneous documents and ephemera relating to the history of psychology. These documents include unpublished research reports, government documents, conference proceedings and programs, organizational newsletters and directories, and other materials.
A highlight of this collection is approximately 35 linear feet of technical reports generated by human scientists for various service branches of the U.S. government, such as the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The reports are public-domain documents and date from approximately 1940 to 2000.
A large portion of the Special Interest collection has been digitized and is now available through the American Psychological Association's PsycExtra Database. Approximately 15,000 special interest documents from the CHP collections will be available in this database.
The Special Interest collection holds a variety of ephemera from the history of psychology, including this 1943 pamphlet advertising jobs for clinical psychologists.
