Topic: Does CIO Still Mean "Career Is Over"?
In the not too distant past, the CIO job was perceived as risky, with a high degree of turnover. With huge shifts in technology (for example, to Bring Your Own Device), increased perceptions of the significance of analytics, and other trends that have raised the profile of the IS function, perhaps this is no longer the case. And how are major functions being redistributed or re-imaged? For example, does your company have a "Chief Digital Officer" or a "Chief Social Officer"? Who owns which pieces of which business processes these days? In this session, we hope to discuss IS career paths, and how the higher level roles are being re-imagined.
