Douglas E. Wenger is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of OMNOVA Solutions Inc. OMNOVA Solutions is a leading producer of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals, and decorative and functional surfaces with 2011 sales of $1.2 billion.
Mr. Wenger joined OMNOVA in October 2001 to lead the global modernization of business processes and information systems for the company’s worldwide operations. He is responsible for information technology strategy, business process and IT solutions, core IT technologies and the integration of business processes from acquisitions. Mr. Wenger developed a global, integrated organization of information technology and business process leaders. His focus on leveraging IT to advance business objectives has led to significant improvements in productivity and customer service capabilities at OMNOVA.
Prior to OMNOVA Solutions, Mr. Wenger was with the Kellogg Company, a global food manufacturer. He most recently served as Director, Global Information Technology Strategy and Architecture, responsible for development and implementation of IT strategies to support the sales, manufacturing and distribution channels of Kellogg’s markets worldwide. He played a leading role in the integration of information systems resulting from acquisitions and business unit consolidations, including Kellogg’s cereal, frozen and snack foods businesses.
Previously, Mr. Wenger was Global Program Director, Enterprise Business Applications at Kellogg, leading the company’s global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation. Over a 21-year career with Kellogg, Mr. Wenger held a number of information technology leadership positions related to corporate, field operations, and research and development.

Mr. Wenger serves in leadership positions for a number of civic and professional organizations. He is past member of the United States Tennis Association’s (USTA) National Information Technology Committee, including five years as its chair. He currently serves as the chair of the USTA national task force for expanding the variety of volunteer opportunities with the organization. He is a member of the USTA Executive Committee and is Immediate Past President and a member of the Board of Directors of the USTA/Midwest Section. Mr. Wenger also serves as President of the Midwest Youth Tennis & Education Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the Panorama Capital CIO Council. Mr. Wenger received the 2005, 2006 and 2011 “CIO of the Year” award from the Northeast Ohio Software Association, and the 2007 national mid-market IT Leadership Award from CIO Decisions magazine.
