Jim Tressel and Jim Dennison

Students, coaches and non-coaches alike throughout Northeast Ohio will have a chance to learn about effective leadership and coaching principles from two of the most successful coaches in college sports history: Jim Tressel, The University of Akron’s executive vice president for student success and former Ohio State football head coach, and former Walsh University and UA football coach Jim Dennison. In addition, they are joining forces with an impressive lineup of seven local college football head coaches to “team teach” a course (with credit and non-credit options) at The University of Akron.

Dates: May 20-21 and 27-28, 2014, plus online.

Pricing: Tuition and fee information for the coaching class (credit and noncredit)

Credit: Three credit hours – undergraduate and graduate levels (5550:490/590). Enroll for credit

Noncredit: Offered via UA Business Solutions for $800. Certificate awarded on completion of in-class and online portions. No UA-funded tuition remission is permitted for the noncredit option.  Enroll for noncredit certificate.

Hybrid course (37½ hours total):

  • In-class: 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays/Wednesday, May 20-21, 27-28. Four hours per night for a total of 16 hours.
  • Online: 21.5 hours
