The majority of graduate students in our program are supported by a number of different forms of financial aid. Three quarters of them are supported by a number of Teaching Assistantships which are available each year and include a stipend (approximately $14,000/10 months) and a tuition scholarship. Summer research fellowship and summer teaching assistantships are also available.

Students applying for a teaching assistantship should submit an application and three letters of reference no later than May 1 for an assistantship starting Fall semester of the same year. Applications are available from:

A number of students are supported on Research Assistantships which provide stipends for 9 months. These assistantships also provide a complete waiver of tuition in the form of a tuition scholarship. Once accepted, as long as your remain a graduate student in good standing we guarantee at least four semesters of funding with a fifth semester of funding possible. The availability of these assistantships is based on the ability of individual faculty to provide the necessary funds. Health Insurance, Low cost graduate student housing, and health insurance are available through the university.
