Research Interests

My primary research interest is to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying fundamental cellular processes in vertebrate neural development. My specific research focus is on the expression and function of cadherin cell adhesion molecules in the development of zebrafish nervous system.

Education

1990-1994, Ph.D. University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY; Dissertation title: Serotonin-like Immunoreactivity in the Visual System of the Frog Rana pipiens

1987-1990, MS, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY; Thesis title: Neural Systems for Clasper Control in Stingrays (Urolophus halleri)

1979-1983, BS, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China
