Von Neumann Medal, 1982
"Management Science Research and the Challenge of Bureaucracy"

Professor Cooper has an outstanding record in developing quantitative tools to solve managerial problems. He has made major contributions to a range of fields: operations research, management science, manpower planning and accounting, as well as economics. He is co-recipient of the prestigious Von Neumann Medal for his work in developing mathematical programming techniques and models for decision planning, and has also received research awards from the American Accounting Association and the Institute for Management Science
