Caribbean Lisa E. Park, Ph.D. We have spent the past four years compiling a database of all the ostracode faunas in the Caribbean, with particular emphasis on San Salvador Island, Bahamas. We are currently analyzing the data from nine ponds on the island with respect to correlations of faunal differences and geochemistry. We are also integrating a large literature database of non-marine faunas, looking at biogeographic patterns of these faunas, particularly with respect to patterns documented for the marine. We are also interested in how climate change has affected ostracode diversity and distribution through time in these non-marine lakes. |
