Mr. Austin is a former VISTA on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation;
a caseworker for the New York City Department of Welfare; a special assistant to the President of the American Heart Association, a former social studies and special
education teacher, a former Assistant to the Superintendent of a correctional facility and a former Chief of Staff to Lt. Governor Richard F. Celeste.
For the past 30 years, he has been President of Gerald J. Austin & Associates, Inc,
a political consulting and marketing firm.
