Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs

As the Academic Adviser for Political Science, Ms. Annie Hanson helps students to plan to complete the requirements for graduation with a minimum of stress, hassle, and unnecessary courses. She also tries to help students to shift their focus from graduation to potential careers. It is important for students to realize that, with so many students graduating with Bachelor's degrees each year, it is crucial for them to plan early for a meaningful career after graduation! Ms. Hanson assists students in developing strategies to make themselves more marketable when they enter the work force.

Ms. Hanson is also instrumental in planning special programs and guest lectures for the Department. Students get the opportunity to meet with influential scholars from around the country and learn from some powerful individuals in the field of Political Science.

Courses taught by Ms. Hanson include: U.S. Government and Politics, Campaign Finance, and Scandal, Slander, & Spin: Campaigning in Modern America.

To make an appointment to discuss a major or minor in Political Science, please contact the department at 330-972-7406 or email Annie at ach13@uakron.edu.
