Prospective students must apply online. Apply Online
Materials needed to complete the MTax at Brecksville application:
  1. Two letters of recommendation.
  2. A brief statement of purpose. Your first sentence in your statment of purpose must state that you are applying for admission into the MTax program at Brecksville.
  3. GMAT score (not required for practicing CPAs and attorneys).
  4. College degree transcripts.
  5. An email to mtax@uakron.edu if you have any questions about the program.
Application Deadline: Prospective students who apply for admission in Fall 2009 must complete their applications by June 1, 2009.

Note that prospective students who apply for admission in fall 2007 and have not completed all application requirements by August 15, may obtain provisional admission into the program if:

  1. They are currently employed as an accountant, lawyer, or tax professional.
  2. They have an undergraduate degree or graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
  3. They have completed (at the college-level) at least a three-credit introductory course in accounting and a three-credit course in federal taxation.
  4. They have scheduled or plan to take the GMAT prior to the end of October 2007. (Required for only individuals who are not practicing CPAs or attorneys).
