Advising Office College of Business Administration Electives, Internships, Coops & Non-Applicable Courses Students need a minimum of 128 applicable semester hours for a baccalaureate degree. Electives will make up part of these hours. The student can select elective credits from other areas, or from minors within or outside the business field. First Two Years A student should complete the required General Education courses and CBA 200-level courses during the student's first two years. Recommended General Education Electives Students are encouraged to utilize their General Education electives to enhance the skills desired by employers. Non-Applicable Courses The following courses are not applicable for a CBA degree: 1. 1020:040 Basic Writing 4 credits 1020:050 Basic Mathematics 4 credits 1020:060 College Reading 4 credits All other "Developmental Level" course work. 2. 5600:100 Career Planning 2 credits (May be used as an elective only if taken prior to admittance to the CBA.) 3. Physical Education in excess of 2 semester credit hours. 4. Associate degree program courses completed while admitted to University College or after transfer or admission into the CBA, unless approved by petition. 5. All redundant course work is not applicable for a CBA degree. Example: 3250:100 completed after 3250:201 and/or 202 are completed.
