Retention-Probationary Status Policies

A CBA student shall be subject to academic probation and course restriction both as to the number of courses and the specific courses in which the student may enroll if any one of the following conditions exists:
  • The accumulated GPA for all courses is less than 2.0; or

  • The accumulated GPA for all CBA and Economics courses is less than 2.0; or

  • The accumulated GPA in the major is less than 2.0

For any student on probation, the Dean shall have the discretion to exclude or remove the student from enrollment in any specific section of a course in favor of other course and/or sections of courses in which official enrollment documents indicate that vacancies exist. Any student on probation who enrolls either for more than the authorized number of courses, or who enrolls in any course not authorized by the Dean shall be subject to immediate dismissal from the CBA. This procedure is effective for all enrollments on or after Summer I 1982.
