Welcome to the Department of Finance at The University of Akron. The department offers students an opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to make reasoned, intelligent decisions as finance managers and as managers in varied business environments. In addition to providing the specialized education of the major, the College of Business provides the opportunity for students to develop into well rounded competent and responsible leaders in business. Long a strength of the college, the extracurricular activities helped make the difference for students to stand above the rest to obtain career positions and to perform once they achieve that position.


The Department of Finance offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (Corporate Financial Management, Financial Services, Real Estate, Personal Financial Planning), a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration degree in International Finance. The department also offer Minors in Finance (Finance for Business Majors, Financial Planning, Financial Services for Non-Business Majors) and Certificate in Finance.
