Department of Management Supply Chain What is a Supply Chain?
Contemporary organizations are finding that they can manage their operations more efficiently and more effectively by focusing on business processes rather than on traditional business functions. The supply chain concept emerges from viewing an organization as an integrated set of functions and process flows. A Supply Chain is the sequence of organizations (facilities, processes, activities, and people) involved in the transformation of raw materials into finished goods and the delivery of those goods to the customer.
