Department of Management College of Business Administration Undergraduate Programs Students who earn undergraduate degrees from the department should possess fundamental skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and application of core business fundamentals
- Understand and show appreciation for the global nature of contemporary business
- Have effective written communication, oral communication skills and presentation skills
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically, including integrating ideas from multiple sources, solving unstructured problems, having a holistic view of business, and applying knowledge of business fundamentals in creative and innovative ways
- Work effectively in teams that include diverse individuals
- Have information technology and knowledge management skills, which include use of database tools, spreadsheet tools, presentation graphics, and online research queries for business decision making or problem solving
- Understand, identify, and address ethical circumstances and dilemmas in business
- Demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for such elements of leadership skills as negotiation, persuasion, and strategic thinking; and
- Understand the fundamental civic and social responsibilities of business professionals in society
