Students have one year after their first class, in which to take the exams. One year is considered three semesters-fall, spring and summer but not necessarily in that order.

Students should contact the graduate programs office at (330)972-7043 to register for the exam. The $100 fee (per exam) is due two weeks before the date of the exam. Checks should be made out to The University of Akron with a memo notation of listing the waiver exam(s) you intend to take.

*Students taking waiver exams in April, August and January, must also enroll in the course they wish to waive for the following semester. If the exam is not passed, the student must take the course.
