| UA Presents 2007 Entrepreneurship Awards. |

Akron, Ohio, May 2, 2007–– The University of Akron has presented its annual Entrepreneurship Awards to students, faculty, an alumnus and a community leader.
The awards, sponsored by UA’s Fitzgerald Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and the College of Business Administration, were presented at the recent Donald L. Kaufman Business Speaker Series luncheon.
Students John Ridley of Aurora, and Michael Tokarz of Lewisburg, Va., received Outstanding Entrepreneurship Student Awards for learning, leading and practicing entrepreneurship.
Stan Vaughn of San Diego, Calif., received the Most Innovative Entrepreneurship Student Award for his ability to take an existing concept, product, service or program and improve it to make it significantly better.
Receiving Entrepreneurial Student Spirit Awards were Michael Cohen of Boston, Mass.; Steven Hernandez of Austintown; Andrea Levengood of New Philadelphia; and Melanie Schenk of Barberton. This award is for students who show passion for entrepreneurship by marketing and promoting entrepreneurship throughout the university and the community while mentoring other students.
Dr. James Emore of Stow, associate dean of the College of Business Administration, received the Academic Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award for his impact on the entrepreneurship program.
University of Akron alumnus Harvey Nelson of Bath, co-CEO of Main Street Gourmet, received the Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award for making the biggest impact on the university’s entrepreneurship program.
The Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award was presented to Nicholas George of Bath, who is president and CEO of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, for showing extraordinary entrepreneurial leadership abilities.
