A 360 Degree Tour of the Taylor Institute

Student Resource Center (Room 567) – This is a student area with plasma televisions, tables, chairs and study areas. The room is used for formal and informal classes, as a student meeting area, and for receptions and other large meetings.

Incubator Suite (Rooms 569A-F) – This is a six room suite of offices (an administrator office, client meeting rooms and four incubator offices) used as part of the eVenture program where selected senior students are provided with an office and the use of the Institute’s resources on a semester basis to develop a business plan and prototype eProducts.

Professional Development Suite (Rooms 566A-D) - The professional development suite houses the offices of the Director for Organizational Development, and the Editor of Direct Marketing: An International Journal, along with a reception area and conference room.

Director’s Suite (Rooms 563A-D) – This suite contains the offices for the director and associate director of the institute, along with a reception area and conference room.

InfoCision “in-the-round” Seminar Room (Room 562) - The InfoCision “in-the-round” Seminar Room is technology-enhanced and serves as a professional breakout, seminar, and classroom set up in a circular configuration allowing the speaker to talk in the center of the room or move the furniture around into any number of smaller group or team configurations.

Interactive Seminar Classroom (Room 561) - The Interactive Seminar Classroom is a technology-enhanced 50 seat tiered classroom with electrically wired tables enabling students to plug in laptops.. It is used for both professional development and student classes.

Staff/Faculty Office Area (Rooms 550B-E) – Offices and work area for staff, faculty and students.

Creative Laboratory (Room 550F) – The Creative Laboratory is designed to allow students to work individually or in teams to create a variety of collateral pieces such as websites, brochures, pamphlets, sales slicks, and e-mails. The room contains both Dell and Apple computers with creative and development programs such as Quark, Adobe Suite, and Macromedia Suite.

Seminar Room (Room 550L) – The Seminar Room is a technology-enhanced classroom for 26 individuals. The room has the original brick “retro” look with transportable tables and chairs that can be configured to meet classroom and client needs.

Marketing Analytics Laboratory (Room 550M) – The Marketing analytics Laboratory is a 24-station analytics classroom where students learn all aspects of data-mining, analysis and especially interpretation of the findings. Students create new databases or use existing ones to learn how to turn data into actionable intelligence. All PCs in the lab contain the most current versions of SPSS-PC and SAS-PC along with other relevant software.

eMarketing Laboratory (Room 550N)– The eMarketing Laboratory serves as an Internet Café where students can work on assignments, projects and such in a friendly, informal environment. The room contains seven PCs with the creative and analytics laboratory software.

Direct Response Laboratory (550Q) – The Direct Response Laboratory is used to create direct response campaigns and materials such as direct mail pieces, newsletters, and catalogues. The room contains a number of Apple computers with appropriate creative software.

Infomercial Studio (Rooms 550R-T) – The Infomercial Studio is a small, fully functional television studio that allows students to create infomercials and other broadcast media programs. Student learn all aspects of production from talent selection, script writing, filming, direction, mixing and post production.

Conference Room (Room 550K) – The Conference Room is used as a boardroom in which students present the results of their projects in a real world professional environment.

Call Center (Room 550H) – The InfoCision Call Center is a fully functional inbound/outbound call center with 12 communicator and 1 supervisor stations. The center is supported by state-of-the-art Interactive Intelligence telecommunications’ software. Students learn to write and test scripts, understand call center processes, protocols, and manage call center functions. Real-life projects are completed for real-life clients.

Interactive Classroom (Room 564) – The Interactive Classroom is technology enhanced and comfortably seats 32 students.

Ideation Rooms (Rooms 560A-C) – There are three ideation or “war” rooms used by classes on a semester basis. The room has floor-to-ceiling write-on white boards and two tack-on walls. They are assigned to student groups and become the central work area and meeting place for the project group.

Kitchen (Room 565A) – This fully functional kitchen is used for receptions and meetings, including professional development events.

Library (Room 565C) – The library facility contains books, publications, and audiovisual materials related to the direct interactive marketing industry and provides students and faculty a place to do research in a quiet environment.

Focus Group Room (Rooms 568E-F) – The suite contains functional focus group room and client viewing room in which groups test concepts, products, and collateral material in a small group environment. Video cameras and microphones record participants’ comments.

Internet Usability Laboratory (568D) – The Internet Usability Laboratory allows students and clients to test their websites on real users and record behavior by videotaping and special diagnostic software. The student/client will also be able to view users from the viewing room (568E).

Ethical, Customer Service, and Tele-Research Offices (Rooms 568A-C) – These offices are dedicated to specialized direct marketing research.
