The College of Education is pleased to welcome Dr. Mark D. Shermis as its 18th Dean.
Dr. Shermis comes to us from The University of Florida, where he was Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education. He earned a doctorate and master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed psychologist in the states of Florida, California, and Indiana.
Dr. Shermis is the co-author of Using Microcomputers in Social Science Research, has authored or co-authored over 50 professional publications, and led or participated in nearly 20 grants and funded research projects. He has presented at nearly 200 professional meetings and conferences, and also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Psychological Assessment."It is truly an honor to be selected as the incoming dean for UA’s College of Education. It is clear that the college has a passion for developing quality education programs and educators who are held in high regard.
