Welcome to the Center for Child Development!
About the Center The University of Akron Center for Child Development is jointly sponsored by the College of Education (Dean's Office) and the College of Fine and Applied Arts, School of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Center was first established as the "Nursery Center" in 1969. The professional faculty continues to provide a quality program for toddler and preschool children and their families. The Center is licensed by the State of Ohio.
The Center for Child Development is licensed for 18 toddlers, 100 preschool children, and 24 school-age children. Hours of operation are 7:30 am - 6:00 pm, year round. Programs are available for children from 18 months to 11 years of age.
The Center for Children Development is located on Fir Hill Street, Akron, OH 44325 (across from the Martin University Center).
