International Programs Committee

College of Education

The College of Education is committed to encouraging international activities related to the teaching, research, and professional service missions of the University. To further examine the College’s international participation and develop an infrastructure within the College to discuss international initiatives, an ad hoc committee was created. The committee works closely with the Dean and The University of Akron Office of International programs to examine the College’s participation in international activities and prepare recommendations in the following areas:

  1. University of Akron student travel/study opportunities
  2. International student opportunities at UA
  3. UA Faculty exchange/research opportunities
  4. International faculty visiting scholar/research or academic program opportunities
The guiding principles for the work of the committee will include the following:
  • International activities must be embedded in the mission of the College and the professional and scholarly interests of faculty.
  • International initiatives should build upon the University of Akron’s current strategic international linkages to encourage long-term and broad-based relationships.
