Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling/TherapyThe Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy program focuses on coursework designed to prepare students to work from a systemic perspective with individuals, couples and families in a variety of mental health settings. The program consists of a minimum of 60 credit hours. Students are required to earn 500 client contact hours with a minimum of 100 hours of supervision. Clinical supervision is based on live observation, videotape or audiotape.
The program has candidacy status with the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and will be going up for Full Accreditation in 2005. Furthermore, the program is accredited by CACREP and has also been approved by the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as meeting the educational requirements for counselor licensure in Ohio.
