• Praxis II/ NTE Scores
• Background Check/TB test results
• Reference list with 3-5 names, address, phone numbers & positions.
• Reference letters
• Midterm and final evaluations
• Sample lesson plans
• Philosophy of education/philosophy of discipline
• Classroom observations completed by teacher or supervisor
• Sample unit plans with supportive materials
• Certificate or license (when available)

Other items may be included, such as:

• Honors/Awards
• Letters from students/ parents
• Observation from building principal
• Pictures of classroom activities, bulletin boards, etc.
• Samples of student work
• Pertinent paperwork from the university (Dean’s list notice, scholarship letters, letter of completion, other units created by student etc.)

Once the portfolio is completed, it is also suggested that you create a paper portfolio including the items from this list that are in bold type. Copies of this paper document should be placed in folders or spiral bound to leave at interviews (serving as a document to leave behind for the school district personnel to refer to later).
