The program consists of eight 3-credit courses addressing INTASC standards:

<2>Advanced Instructional Techniques: Modern Languages K-8 – 5100:621
<3>Content Reading in Secondary Schools – 5500:780
<4>Instructional and Management Practices – 5500:619
<5>Instructional Techniques: Secondary Foreign Languages – 5500:618
<6>Field Experience: Classroom Instruction – 5500:694
<7>Foundations of Multicultural Education – 5100:604
<8>Seminar in Foreign Languages: Assessment & Evaluation – 5500:637

Technology is threaded throughout all these courses with WebCT/Springboard as a delivery and management vehicle. The courses identified exist already in our curriculum, but a cohort version is developed to customize the delivery of the appropriate instruction to the cohort groups and to accommodate scheduling needs of working “career professionals.” Assignments and projects are web-based and/or include the use of multimedia in presentations and products. Candidates who wish to continue earning a M.A. degree after program completion and licensure will find this intensive institute a seamless fit with the graduate degree program.
