SPECIAL EVENT!

Silver Screen Magic with Marvin Hamlisch

The University of Akron School of Music welcomes Marvin Hamlisch to the E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall stage on Friday, May 2 at 8 p.m. Hamlisch has composed for more than 40 films, including his Oscar-winning score and song for "The Way We Were" and his adaptation of Scott Joplin’s music for "The Sting," for which he received his third Oscar. His groundbreaking show, "A Chorus Line," received the Pulitzer Prize.

This celebrated composer, conductor and pianist joins The University of Akron School of Music’s Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Choirs for a musical evening of Hollywood favorites. Presented by OMNOVA Solutions Foundation and E.J. Thomas Hall.

$25 and $20 general; $23 and $18 seniors, children 12 and under, UA faculty/staff/retirees; $12.50 and $10 UA students.
