Interior Design - Student and Other Organizations The American Society of Interior Designers Student Chapter
The University of Akron has a very active student chapter of The American Society of Interior Designers. Student members of ASID benefit from a wide range of educational, social and service events and activities. The organization promotes strong relations with the business community, provides opportunities for professional development and growth, brings together future employees with potential employers and provides a resource center for all students.
The ASID Student Chapter at The University of Akron was awarded "ASID Outstanding Student Chapter of the Year" for 2001-2002 and "ASID Student Chapter Newsletter of the Year" for 2001-2002.
Students may also join The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) as student members.
The professional chapters of both ASID and IIDA hold regular meetings and events to which students are invited and welcome.
