The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board Mission and Vision:
The Board exists to assist the faculty, staff, and students of The University of Akron in ensuring an optimal educational experience.
The purpose of the Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board is to assist and support the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CP), the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), the Program for Nutrition Intervention (PNI), and the Graduate Program in Dietetics at the University of Akron.
The Board serves an advisory role that provides strategic direction and resources for the programs. It also enhances the programs enabling competencies of people, documented excellence, student success, community engagement and shared leadership. 2006-2007 Officers:

- To continue to provide financial support and resources for the Nutrition and Dietetics Programs (NDP).
- To enrich the educational opportunities and academic support to the Nutrition and Dietetics Programs (NDP).
- To enhance the advocacy for the Nutrition and Dietetics (NDP) to the community, industry, and The University of Akron.
Objectives for 2006-2007
1. Continue with the financial growth of the Nutrition and Dietetic Program Scholarship.
a. To hold an Annual Conference for the Nutrition and Dietetic Programs Scholarship.
b. To maintain a committee for scholarship recipient selection.
2. Establish goals, objectives and a mechanism for the Board Member-Student Mentorship Program
3. To support the establishment of a Nutrition Center of Excellence.
4. Identify, explore and cultivate resources to financially and materially support the growth of the Nutrition and Dietetics Programs

Upcoming and Recent Events:
3rd Annual Nutrition & Dietetic Programs Advisory Board Seminar "New Directions in Nutrition" on April 5, 2007 from 8:00 to 5:00 in Akron, Ohio.
All proceeds from this conference will benefit The University of Akron Nutrition & Dietetic Programs Advisory Board Scholarship. The board will provide an annual scholarship to a junior or senior student in dietetics. The scholarship will be awarded to one student annually for academic and professional excellence, accompanied by demonstrated good leadership, teamwork, and ethics.
